I have a job, which is fantastic. It ends in December, which is less fantastic, but par for the course for this industry. It's been a great time, and I can't wait to see my show on TV!
Recently there was an incident and another employee about my age, so fairly new to the world of entertainment, told a consulting producer with many years more experience than her to "be a team player" in regards to doing someone else's work and job. He already has more than enough on his plate, doing the jobs of many people and working lengthy hours and I have a lot of respect for him.
It's hard to use that phrase and have it sound anything other than patronizing.
Of course we want everyone to be team players. Entertainment is a very collaborative field. Of course, it seems like most of the time, the person saying that phrase is the one actually in need of being cooperative and considerate.
Anyway, I guess the moral of the story is don't be a dick, be nice to everyone, and Don't Forget to be Awesome.
